Your Playball Coach

Our Playball coaches love sport, love children, love to have fun!  We have Head Office training workshops twice a year in the UK and continuous training by manager Mark through the year.  Herewith a little about each coach;

Mark Whiteley - Franchise Manager

I started my Playball journey in 2011, and pride myself on my knowledge of the intricacies of the Playball programme and its positive effects and benefits for all children who attend our classes. My love of sports and education means that every child attending a Playball class leaves with a better understanding of sport skills as well as a passion for social activity. I have taught children aged 2-7 and therefore understand the needs of all age groups and how to get the best out of each individual. Learn Practice Play, it’s the Playball way!

Sammy Buckle -  Coach

I have always been an active and energetic person. Growing up in Zimbabwe I Played sports all the way through school, in a team and leadership role, and have come to learn the valuable role that sports play in our lives. Naturally the physical benefits are numerous, but so too do we learn interpersonal skills, camaraderie and sportsmanship. Through this I was, unsurprisingly, drawn to Playball, where I could be continually involved in a fun, active and learning environment. But also a place where I may pass on the valuable lessons I have learnt through activity and engagement with sports. I have a passion for children, and have worked with them all through university and thereafter. I have been working with Playball since April 2015, and have learnt a great deal along the way. I am an out-going and bubbly person who would be a great coach and guide for your child during their time here at Playball.

Becky Hobden - Coach

I watched my two boys go through the Playball programme and saw the enthusiasm it gave them for sport as well as the foundations of various life skills. Seeing how valuable Playball was made me think I would love to teach other children these qualities and skills. I have worked as a coach for over a year now and I love it! I have run 2 marathons and numerous half marathons; you might spot me heading off up Wimbledon Hill after teaching!

Joshua Smyth - Coach

I moved to England from Zimbabwe. I started my playball journey at the start of 2016, I have always loved playing sports from a very early age, I am dyslexic and suffer from ADD. I know how much sport can help as an outlet and a way to let kids feel good about themselves. I always encourage the kids to have a fun and energetic lesson but still ensure that the skills and learning take place. You can catch me on court performing handstands and cartwheels.
